We recently moved into a top-of-the-line facility in Gardnerville, equipped with digital radiography, a full in-house laboratory, endoscopy, ultrasound, electrocardiography, CT, a full in-house pharmacy, and multiple surgical suites for both routine and advanced procedures.

We are seeking hard-working, self-motivated individuals to join our amazing technician team. This position includes nights and weekends. Candidates must be reliable, responsible, and team-oriented. We offer a competitive starting hourly wage and a comprehensive benefits package after 60 days for full-time employees.

We are currently looking for technicians with 1–3 years of veterinary experience. Our Veterinary Technicians work both independently and closely alongside our doctors, so excellent communication and customer service skills are essential. We utilize electronic medical records, so strong computer skills are required. Experience with EzyVet is preferred but not required.

Although we are considered a general practice, we also provide urgent same-day care and after-hours emergency services. We primarily see cats and dogs, but we also treat birds, pocket pets, some reptiles, and small livestock.

Veterinary Technician Responsibilities Include:

  • Client education and communication
  • Venipuncture and IV catheter placement
  • Administering SQ, IV, and IM injections
  • Obtaining digital radiographs
  • Performing treatments as directed by doctors
  • Preparing samples for outside laboratories
  • Running in-house laboratory testing
  • Preparing patients for surgery
  • Intubation and anesthesia monitoring
  • Performing dental cleanings and dental radiographs
  • General hospital duties including cleaning, stocking, and laundry

Technicians rotate through various roles including, Treatment Room Technician, Dental Technician, and Surgery Technician.

Requirements:

  • Veterinary experience (1–3 years preferred)
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
