Veterinary Technician

Job summary

We are seeking a compassionate and detail-oriented Veterinary Technician to support our veterinarians by providing exceptional patient care and positive client experiences. The ideal candidate will be organized, service-oriented, and proficient in a variety of veterinary procedures and tasks. 

Responsibilities and duties

• Assist veterinarians during examinations, surgeries, and other medical procedures.
• Administer medications, vaccines, and treatments as prescribed by the veterinarian.
• Monitor anesthesia and provide post-operative care.
• Perform laboratory tests (e.g., blood work, urinalysis) and diagnostic imaging (e.g., X-rays).
• Collect and record patient vital signs and medical histories.
• Maintain accurate and detailed medical records.
• Handle and restrain animals safely and compassionately for exams and procedures.
• Educate and advise clients on animal health, nutrition, and home care.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and sterile work environment by cleaning and sterilizing instruments and equipment.

Qualifications and skills

• Previous experience in a veterinary clinic or animal hospital setting preferred.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to interact with clients and the veterinary team.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-pressure, or emergency environment.
• Proficiency with veterinary software and electronic medical records systems.
• Detail-oriented with strong organizational and multitasking skills.
• Compassionate and empathetic approach to animal care.
• Ability to handle and restrain a variety of animal species safely
