Job Title: Community Marketing Specialist

Location: This is an on-site role in our PetOne Veterinary, Rockville Centre location. Occasional travel within the community is also required. This person may be responsible for participating in work events outside of normal business hours on nights and weekends. 

Overview: We are seeking a motivated and dynamic On-Site Community Marketing Specialist to join our team. This role involves engaging with local communities and driving brand awareness through in-person marketing efforts. You will be responsible for organizing, promoting, and executing community-based marketing events and initiatives to connect with potential and existing clients, strengthen our brand presence, and foster relationships within the community.

The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills, a passion for community engagement, creating memorable experiences, and the ability to work in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment.

Key Responsibilities:
• Event Planning & Execution: Organize, coordinate, and execute on-site marketing events, pop-ups, and activations to engage with the local community.
• Brand Representation: Act as the primary representative for the brand at community events, ensuring a consistent and positive brand image.
• Community Engagement: Build and maintain relationships with local businesses, influencers, and residents to drive brand loyalty and word-of-mouth marketing.
• Marketing Campaigns: Collaborate with the marketing team to implement community-driven marketing campaigns, promotions, and contests.
• Customer Interaction: Engage with event attendees and potential customers, gather feedback, and address inquiries about products or services.
• Data Collection & Reporting: Track event success through attendance, engagement metrics, and post-event feedback, and provide regular updates to the marketing team.
• Partnership Development: Identify local partnership opportunities with businesses, schools, organizations, and community leaders to expand the brand’s reach.

Reports to: Hospital Manager 

Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
• Associates degree or higher in marketing, communications, public relations or a related field; Bachelors degree preferred
• Minimum of 3+ years of community marketing experience, with a strong focus on brand awareness, driving new client acquisition, and current client retention
• Experience organizing both in-person and virtual events to engage the community, drive new client acquisition and current client retention.
• Skilled in building relationships through two-way conversations with community members.
• Ability to identify and cultivate local relationships with key partners including local businesses, charitable organizations, community leaders and media.
• Knowledge of community-building strategies and best practices.
• Adaptability to changes in community behavior and marketing trends.
• Strong team collaboration skills across departments (marketing, medical, vendor).
• Effective time management and multitasking for consistent community experience.
• Creative in developing fresh ways to engage and maintain a dynamic brand presence.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills for engaging with community members and creating engaging content tailored for different audience segments
• Proficiency in major social media platforms and analytics to assess engagement and growth.
• Ability to collaborate with partners, vendors, speakers, media and influencers.
• Capable of reporting insights and suggesting improvements to meet goals and KPIs.
• Basic crisis management skills for handling negative feedback and challenges.
• Empathetic with a focus on understanding and meeting community members’ needs.

Compensation: This is a salaried role ranging from $50,000-$60,000 annually.
