Eagle Animal Hospital is looking for a Shift Lead/Manager for our Kennel department at our RIVERSIDE location. We are looking for a motivated, friendly and compassionate animal lover! Shifts include one weekend day and must be available for holiday shifts. Must be flexible for shifts consisting of 6-3pm; 7-4pm; and 8-6pm. Weekends and holidays are 7-12pm and 3-6pm. Must be available for these shifts. Hours vary from 30-40 hours weekly. FULL time offers a great benefits package.
The ideal candidate would be enthusiastic, highly-motivated, up-beat, organized, and have a true passion for caring for animals.
The responsibilities would include the care, feeding, bathing, record keeping and the cleanliness of cages, runs and ward areas, exercising of all pets in the boarding facilities and daily grooming of pets. Can work unaffected in an environment where dogs are barking.
Work requires lifting and carrying animals and food bags (will be assisted by other staff members in lifting animals over 40 lbs). Walks or stands for extended periods or time; frequently works in a bent position.
Hospital duties would include laundry, dishes, sweeping and mopping floors, removing animal waste from hospital grounds, and other cleaning duties as assigned. This position will include weekends along with some holiday shifts.
Experience is preferred, but not required as we will train the right candidate.

Team Leadership
- Help train, mentor, and coach kennel assistants on protocols and safe animal handling
- Assist with creating daily assignments and maintaining workflow efficiency
- Provide constructive feedback and escalate performance concerns to management
- Lead by example in professionalism, reliability, and compassion toward pets and clients
- Help find coverage or cover shifts when needed.
- Help with scheduling as needed
- Help with performance reviews and feedback on kennel staff
We are located in the Northland just a few miles from Liberty, Downtown KC, Gladstone, and Parkville. Competitive benefits package.
