Job Summary
The Director, Legal Operations will lead and oversee all aspects of legal operations for the NVA Legal, Compliance & Government Relations team. This role is responsible for driving operational efficiency, developing metrics and KPIs, implementing scalable processes, managing budgets and vendors, and developing and executing a comprehensive legal technology roadmap. The position will serve as a strategic partner to leadership, enabling the Legal, Compliance and Government Relations function to operate effectively in a complex, multi-site environment.

Key Responsibilities
Legal Operations & Strategy:
- Lead the design, implementation, and continuous improvement of legal operations processes and infrastructure.
- Develop and execute a legal operations strategy aligned with business and legal priorities.
- Establish and track KPIs and metrics to measure legal function effectiveness.
- Support strategic initiatives, including corporate maturity and IPO-readiness efforts.
Technology & Innovation:
- Develop and implement a multi-year legal technology roadmap.
- Evaluate and manage legal technology solutions (CLM, e-billing, matter management).
- Drive adoption of workflow automation, AI-enabled tools, and analytics capabilities.
- Partner with IT for system integration and scalability.
Process Optimization & Efficiency:
- Streamline legal workflows and reduce manual processes.
- Implement standardized templates and playbooks.
- Improve contract lifecycle management processes.
- Optimize outside counsel usage and spend management.
Financial Management & Vendor Oversight:
- Manage legal budget planning, forecasting, and tracking.
- Oversee outside counsel relationships and performance.
- Implement e-billing and cost control processes.
Governance, Risk & Compliance Support:
- Support governance, compliance, and risk initiatives.
- Ensure documentation and audit readiness.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree preferred.
- 6+ years of relevant experience in legal operations.
- Experience with legal technology and process improvement essential.
- Strong project management and analytical skills.

Physical Demands of the Job
Predominantly office-based work with prolonged sitting, computer use, presentations, and meetings. Travel is expected but less than 20%, and may include occasional visits to company events, Legal Team offsites and meetings, or hospital sites. Standard office demands apply with occasional evening or weekend work as business needs require.

FLSA Classification: Exempt
The base salary range for this full-time position is $150,000-$190,000 annually. Our salary ranges are primarily determined by role, level, and location. The range provided for each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
