Alta Animal Hospital is seeking a Managing Veterinarian to lead our progressive, multi-doctor small animal practice in the scenic and welcoming community of Pocatello, Idaho. About the Hospital

We operate out of a modern, free-standing building that backs up to a peaceful park—creating a serene work environment with easy access to nature. Our team includes three experienced veterinarians, a highly skilled support staff, and a loyal client base that values both advanced care and meaningful relationships.


The Managing Veterinarian Role


As Managing Veterinarian, you will play a key role in leading the medical team, shaping hospital culture, and driving clinical excellence. You’ll partner closely with hospital leadership to support both the medical and operational success of the practice.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide medical leadership and uphold high standards of patient care
  • Mentor and support associate veterinarians and clinical staff
  • Foster a positive, collaborative, and accountable team culture
  • Help drive hospital growth, client experience, and service offerings
  • Collaborate on medical protocols, quality assurance, and best practices
  • Balance leadership responsibilities with hands-on clinical work

  • 5 exam rooms, large treatment area, surgical suite, and dedicated radiology room
  • In-house diagnostic lab with access to referral labs for advanced testing
  • Digital radiography (full body + dental) with consulting radiologists
  • Advanced dental equipment and surgical monitoring tools
  • Endoscopy unit for laparoscopic, otoscopic, rhinoscopic, and GI procedures
  • Full pharmacy with compounding and referral access
  • Avimark practice management software
