Job Description
Position Title: Accounts Receivable Specialist
Job Type: Fulltime
Schedule: Varies based on hospital
Salary: $27.25 - $33.25/hr
At Adobe Animal Hospital, we rely on a meticulous financial system to drive business forward. Our accounts receivable department keeps that system running smoothly by managing cash influx and collecting payment from clients. We’re searching for a skilled accounting specialist to join our accounts receivable team to help process, track, and record payments in an accurate, efficient, and timely manner. The accounting specialist will have both a day-to-day and ongoing impact on financial transactions, keeping us on track, on time, and on good terms with our valued partners. They will also manage labor forecasting, review and analysis.
Objectives of this role
·Support the hospital in optimizing our financial transactions and systems by performing reconciliation of payments and customer accounts
·Communicate discrepancies to hospital leadership team, identify slow-paying customers, and recommend collection candidates
·Strengthen and grow relationships with clients by communicating with customers regarding past-due accounts
·Assist in streamlining the accounts receivable process by identifying areas for improvement
·Exercise integrity and confidentiality in financial reporting, and comply with national and local financial requirements
Responsibilities
·Independently manage accounts receivable using the Impromed software
·Gather and verify invoices for appropriate documentation prior to payment
·Independently manage accounts receivable and daily reconciliation of monthly reports to ensure accounting records are accurate and maintained as required
·Maintain Daily correction records for End of Month AR Audit
·Accounts receivable end of month duties
·Perform daily cash management duties, including payment collection, updating and distribution of cash receipt logs, and posting of cash to the accounts receivable sub-ledger
·Prepare analytical and ratio analyses relevant to A/R so leadership can gain a better understanding of how collection efforts are progressing
·Support NVA accounting/finance team members, inventory management, and cost accounting
·Meet regularly (weekly) with Hospital Leadership to discuss revenue opportunities, goals
·Manage quarterly inventory reporting to senior leadership for approval
·Monthly revenue forecasting and payroll reconciliation utilizing the ERLT
Project Management Duties
·Participate in special projects as assigned
·Maintain positive business relationships and excellent communications with internal NVA departments to support strategic programs
·Recommend innovative solutions for accounts receivable, inventory and labor processes
·Perform labor and financial analysis and provide recommendations for continued improvement
Qualifications
·3-5 years of experience in an accounts receivable role
·Associate’s degree or equivalent in business or related degree is preferred
·Prior experience and understanding of basic principles of finance, accounting, inventory and bookkeeping
·Superb time management skills and detail orientation
·Ability to maintain confidentiality of company and team information
·Must have strong project management, independent problem-solving and excellent verbal and written communication skills
·Exceptional time management skills and ability to flex appropriately as the business dictates
·Comfortable with and able to navigate ambiguity
·Experience with analyzing reporting and data to guide strategic financial planning
·Demonstrates excellence in customer service
·Maintaining a collaborative team environment
·Microsoft Office suite (Previous practice management software knowledge preferred)
·Experience in a hospital setting in positions of increased responsibility a plus
·Proficiency with accounting ERP systems, such as Oracle, SAP, NetSuite
