About Us

Clark Animal Hospital is a well-established, eight-doctor general practice with a brand-new, state-of-the-art facility and a supportive, upbeat team environment. Our hospital values learning, teamwork, and exceptional patient care—and we’re excited to welcome a Veterinary Assistant or Unregistered Veterinary Technician who shares those values.

As an integral part of our medical team, you’ll support our veterinarians and technicians while helping us deliver outstanding experiences for both pets and their families.

We’re seeking a Veterinary Assistant or Veterinary Technician who is compassionate, motivated, and eager to grow. Our ideal candidate:

Schedule

This is a full-time position (35–40 hours per week).
We are open Monday–Friday and every other Saturday, and we aim for consistent, balanced schedules for our team.


Compensation

$16.00 - $18.00 an hour based on experience.


What You’ll Do

Client Care & Communication

  • Greeting clients, scheduling appointments, checking in patients, and processing payments
  • Maintaining positive, clear communication with clients both in person and by phone
  • Reviewing medical records, estimates, and discharge instructions with clients
  • Accurately recording medical and client information in patient charts

Patient Care & Clinical Support

  • Assisting veterinarians and technicians with exams, treatments, and procedures
  • Providing patient care as directed by a DVM
  • Helping maintain the cleanliness and organization of exam rooms, kennels, and treatment areas
  • Supporting daily hospital operations and assisting with equipment maintenance
  • Participating in routine or special cleaning duties to uphold hospital standards

Team Support

  • Upholding our hospital’s Core Values and Mission
  • Working collaboratively to ensure patients move smoothly through their visit
  • Assisting with other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Skills & Abilities

  • Comfort and confidence in handling pets of all sizes and temperaments
  • Ability to stay composed in stressful or fast-paced situations
  • Strong communication, spelling, and grammar skills for accurate medical recordkeeping
  • Ability to follow instructions and work as part of a strong team
  • Basic understanding of (or willingness to learn) lab work, radiology, surgery prep, anesthesia monitoring, dentistry, and nursing tasks

Education

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift, carry, and move up to 50 lbs
  • Comfortable standing, walking, kneeling, or bending for extended periods
  • Ability to work in a moderately noisy environment with animals and medical equipment
  • Manual dexterity and good vision for handling animals, equipment, and computers
  • Willingness to work safely around pets, chemicals, biological hazards, and occasional radiation exposure
