Galveston Veterinary Clinic is seeking a Medical Director to provide clinical leadership while continuing to practice high-quality medicine in one of the most unique veterinary hospitals on the Texas coast! If you're an experienced veterinarian who enjoys mentorship, collaboration, medical excellence, and helping a hospital continue to thrive, look no further! As Medical Director, you'll have the opportunity to influence medical standards, support team development, and shape the future of a hospital with a strong reputation, all while maintaining a primarily clinical role (approximately 90% clinical and 10% admin).

Galveston Veterinary Clinic is the largest veterinary hospital on the island, proudly serving the community and their pets for more than 40 years with compassionate, high-quality care. We are a full-service small animal & exotics general practice. Our newly remodeled, stunning standalone facility offers a unique and diverse caseload, including small animals, traditional exotics, and extremely unique species. We've seen some pretty "wild" patients including penguins, kangaroos, otters, and raccoons!  We are a community-focused practice with a close-knit “island vibe” culture and a strong commitment to exceptional patient care and team collaboration.

Role Responsibilities:

• Help maintain and elevate clinical standards and best practices
• Collaborate with hospital leadership on team development and operations
• Mentor and support associate veterinarians, externs, and the broader medical team
• Foster a positive, collaborative culture centered around patient care and client service
• Build strong relationships with veterinarians, support staff, and clients
• Identify opportunities to enhance medical quality, efficiency, and the overall hospital experience
• Support the continued growth and success of an established, thriving practice
• Lead by example
