Managing Veterinarian Opening in South Central Pennsylvania


Chambersburg Animal Hospital is seeking a full-time Managing Veterinarian to lead our well-established, full-service companion animal practice in Chambersburg, Pennsylvania. Conveniently located off Routes 81 and 30, our hospital has proudly served the community for over 70 years. We recently relocated into a beautifully remodeled and expanded veterinary hospital, designed to better support our growing team and client base.


This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced veterinarian who is passionate about high-quality medicine and ready to step into a leadership role focused on team development, operational excellence, and continued growth of the practice.


About Our Hospital


A beautifully remodeled, expanded veterinary hospital. Our larger, thoughtfully designed space allows for improved workflow, better organization, and a more comfortable environment for both staff and clients.

• 6-doctor collaborative practice

• 9 exam rooms, spacious treatment area, large surgery suite, dental suite, and ISO ward

• Full in-house laboratory

• In-house ECGs (run and interpreted)

• Laser surgery capabilities

• Advanced surgical monitoring equipment

• Digital X-ray system with rapid, high-quality imaging

• Digital dental radiography

• Ultrasound

• Ultrasonic dental equipment

• Fully stocked pharmacy

• Latest version of AVImark software

• Prompt Care appointments (same-day scheduled emergencies)

Leadership Responsibilities


As Managing Veterinarian, you will:

• Provide medical leadership and ensure the highest standards of patient care

• Mentor and support associate veterinarians, fostering professional growth and development

• Partner with the Hospital Manager to oversee daily operations and strategic planning

• Promote a collaborative, positive, and accountable team culture

• Lead regular doctor meetings and contribute to staff training initiatives

• Ensure compliance with medical protocols, regulatory standards, and best practices

• Drive hospital performance through thoughtful decision-making and team engagement

• Support recruitment, onboarding, and retention of veterinary team members

• Strengthen community relationships and represent the hospital in local outreach efforts

Compensation

Skills & Qualifications

• Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree (or equivalent) from an accredited university

• Active Pennsylvania veterinary license in good standing (or ability to obtain)

• Minimum of 3–5 years of clinical experience preferred

Relocation benefits are offered at NVA GP’s discretion and are available only for approved Managing Veterinarian roles within the following states: OH, WV, PA, MD, NJ, NY, MA, RI, CT, VT, NH, ME. Eligibility is dependent on distance moved, business need, and final approval from Talent Acquisition. Payment amounts and criteria may vary by role and are subject to change at any time. Relocation benefits are not available for local moves (e.g., short-distance moves within the same metro area). NVA GP reserves the right to determine whether a move qualifies as “relocation” based on mileage thresholds, candidate address, and business rationale.
