Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Veterinary Receptionist to join our team. As a Veterinary Receptionist, you will be the first point of contact for clients, providing exceptional customer service and ensuring efficient clinic operations. Your primary responsibility will be to greet clients, schedule appointments, answer phone calls, and handle administrative tasks. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, a strong attention to detail, and a genuine passion for animal care.
Responsibilities:
- Greet and assist clients in a friendly and professional manner, ensuring a positive experience
- Answer phone calls, respond to client inquiries, and direct calls to the appropriate staff members
- Schedule appointments for veterinary services and manage the appointment calendar efficiently
- Collect and update client information, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality of records
- Handle client intake forms, veterinary records, and other administrative tasks
- Manage the flow of clients and patients in the reception area, ensuring a smooth and organized process
- Collaborate with the veterinary team to provide support and assist with patient care as needed
- Handle financial transactions, including processing payments and maintaining financial records
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the reception area and waiting room
- Stay informed about clinic services, procedures, and policies to accurately answer client questions
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; additional education in veterinary reception or animal science is a plus
- Proven experience in a customer service role, preferably in a veterinary clinic or animal-related setting
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to empathize and interact effectively with clients and staff members
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
- Proficient computer skills, including experience with veterinary practice software or similar systems
- Knowledge and understanding of basic veterinary terminology
- Ability to remain calm and composed in stressful situations and handle difficult clients with patience and professionalism
- A genuine love for animals and a commitment to providing exceptional care and service to both clients and patients
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed
