Asheville Veterinary Associates South is seeking an experienced Veterinary Assistant to join our close-knit small animal general practice in beautiful Asheville, NC.

What You'll Do

As a Veterinary Assistant, you'll support our veterinarians and technicians in providing outstanding care to our patients and clients.

Responsibilities include:

Assisting with patient restraint and handling

Preparing patients for exams, surgery, and dental procedures

Supporting anesthesia and surgical workflows

Collecting samples and running diagnostics

Administering treatments as directed

Maintaining clean and organized treatment areas

Providing excellent client communication and education

Helping create a positive, team-oriented hospital environment

What We're Looking For

Required:

2+ years of experience as a Veterinary Assistant

Experience in a small animal veterinary hospital

Strong communication and teamwork skills

Positive attitude and willingness to help wherever needed

Ideal Candidate:

Experience assisting with surgery and dentistry

Comfortable working in a GP environment

Interested in continued learning and professional growth

Someone who enjoys building strong relationships with their team

Compensation & Benefits

$16–18/hour

Pay is based on experience.
