Reception & Client Services
Greet clients and patients warmly and professionally
Answer phones, schedule appointments, and manage client communications
Check clients in and out, process payments, and handle invoices
Maintain accurate client and patient records in the practice management system
Communicate medical instructions, estimates, and discharge information clearly
Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming lobby and front desk area
Veterinary Technician Support
Assist veterinarians and technicians with patient restraint and handling
Obtain patient histories and assist with triage when appropriate
Perform basic technical skills as trained (e.g., nail trims, blood draws, vaccine preparation, lab work, radiographs, catheter placement, anesthesia monitoring — based on training and certification level)
Assist with exam rooms, treatments, and surgical prep/cleanup
Clean, disinfect, and restock exam rooms, treatment areas, and equipment
Monitor hospitalized patients and report changes to the medical team
Cross-Training Expectations
Will rotate between front desk and technical duties based on clinic needs
Must be willing to step into either role to support patient care and clinic flow
Maintain competency in both receptionist and technician responsibilities
Skills & Qualifications
Previous veterinary clinic experience preferred (reception or technician)
Strong communication and customer service skills
Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
Compassionate, calm, and professional demeanor
Basic computer skills and familiarity with veterinary software preferred
Ability to work collaboratively with all team members
Physical Requirements
Ability to stand for extended periods
Ability to lift and restrain animals (with assistance when needed)
Ability to work around animals, chemicals, and medical equipment
Work Environment
Fast-paced veterinary clinic with exposure to animals, medical procedures, and emotionally charged situations
Requires flexibility in scheduling, including occasional weekends or extended hours as needed
