Responsibilities

West Jordan Veterinary Hospital is seeking a motivated, compassionate Associate Veterinarian to join our well‑established, multi‑doctor practice in the Salt Lake City metro area. This is an excellent opportunity for both experienced DVMs and new graduates who are looking for strong mentorship, diverse case exposure, and a genuinely supportive team environment.

About Our Hospital

West Jordan Veterinary Hospital has been a trusted part of the community for decades and is known for practicing high‑quality medicine with a collaborative, down‑to‑earth culture. We are especially well regarded for our exotics medicine, offering the opportunity to see and work with a wide variety of non‑traditional companion animals in addition to small animal patients.

Our medical team is led by Kevin Nemelka, DVM, MDVM, who is passionate about mentorship, teaching, and helping doctors build confidence and autonomy at their own pace. We pride ourselves on being a hospital where doctors are supported, heard, and encouraged to develop their individual interests.

What You’ll Do

  • Provide high‑quality medical and surgical care to small animal patients, with opportunities to work with exotic species
  • Build strong client relationships through clear communication and compassionate care
  • Collaborate with an experienced team of doctors, technicians, and support staff
  • Practice medicine in a way that aligns with your interests and professional goals
  • Participate in mentorship and knowledge‑sharing within the team

Who We’re Looking For

  • DVM or equivalent, licensed (or eligible) to practice in Utah
  • New graduates are encouraged to apply — structured mentorship is available
  • Experienced veterinarians looking for a collaborative, low‑ego team environment
  • Interest in exotics medicine is a plus, but not required
  • A team‑oriented mindset and commitment to excellent patient care

Mentorship & Support

We take mentorship seriously and tailor it to the individual doctor. New graduates receive hands‑on guidance, case support, and a welcoming environment where questions are encouraged. Experienced doctors enjoy autonomy while still having access to collaboration and shared knowledge.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Competitive base salary with production
  • Sign‑on bonus and relocation assistance may be available
  • Medical, dental, and vision insurance
  • Paid CE with dedicated CE time
  • 401(k) with company match
  • Generous PTO and paid holidays
  • Supportive scheduling with a focus on work‑life balance
