Lead. Grow. Make an Impact.

At Quail Hollow Animal Hospital, we’re not just running a hospital—we’re building something special. As a thriving 6-DVM practice with a team of approximately 40 dedicated professionals, we pride ourselves on delivering exceptional patient care, fostering a highly engaged and collaborative culture, and continuously pushing toward operational excellence and growth.

We’re looking for a strong, people-focused operations leader who is ready to step into a high-impact role—someone who can drive performance, develop teams, and partner closely with medical leadership to elevate both the business and the care we provide.

If you’re energized by leading large teams, optimizing operations, and shaping culture in a fast-paced, high-quality medical environment—this is your opportunity.

🌟 Why Quail Hollow?

  • Established & Growing: A busy, well-respected 6-doctor practice with strong community presence
  • Engaged, Tenured Team: Collaborative culture with leaders who value communication and development
  • High-Quality Medicine: A team committed to doing what’s best for patients—every time
  • Operational Complexity: Large team, diverse services, and real opportunity to lead meaningful change
  • Leadership Partnership: Work side-by-side with an experienced Managing DVM and regional support team
  • Room to Lead: This is not a “maintenance” role—you’ll actively shape the future of the hospital

? Position Overview

The Hospital Manager is a key member of the leadership team, responsible for driving hospital performance, leading team development, and ensuring operational excellence. In close partnership with the Managing Veterinarian, you will balance business performance with high-quality medical care, ensuring the hospital runs efficiently, profitably, and with a strong, positive culture.

This is a hands-on, on-site leadership role with daily interaction across all levels of the hospital—from clients to clinical teams.

  • Lead, coach, and develop a team of ~40 staff members across all departments
  • Create and manage staffing schedules to optimize efficiency and team balance
  • Set clear expectations, goals, and accountability standards
  • Drive engagement through recognition, development opportunities, and stay interviews
  • Partner with regional leadership to identify and execute performance improvements
  • Foster a culture of transparency, collaboration, and continuous growth

Financial & Business Management

  • Own and manage full P&L performance of the hospital
  • Monitor financial trends, forecast needs, and identify growth opportunities
  • Oversee payroll, inventory, accounts receivable, and expense management
  • Track and drive key KPIs (revenue per DVM, transaction value, forward booking, etc.)
  • Lead annual planning and budgeting processes
  • Present performance insights and action plans to leadership

Operations & Strategy

  • Oversee and streamline daily hospital operations across all departments
  • Optimize scheduling and workflow to support both client experience and team efficiency
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA, safety standards, and regulatory requirements
  • Partner with the MDVM to maintain and elevate medical quality standards
  • Implement new systems, technologies, and process improvements
  • Develop and execute local marketing and growth initiatives
  • Represent the hospital in community outreach and relationship-building efforts

People & Culture Management

  • Lead recruitment, onboarding, training, and performance management
  • Navigate employee relations, including coaching and disciplinary actions
  • Build retention strategies that support long-term team success
  • Maintain licensure compliance and documentation for DVMs and clinical staff
  • Create a culture where feedback is constructive, timely, and actionable

Client Experience

  • Champion a high standard of client service and communication
  • Resolve client concerns with professionalism and follow-through
  • Partner with the team to enhance client engagement and retention
  • Support initiatives that drive both new client growth and loyalty

🎯 What We’re Looking For

  • Proven leadership experience in multi-department operations (veterinary or healthcare preferred)
  • Strong business acumen with experience managing budgets and KPIs
  • A confident, approachable leader who can coach, develop, and hold teams accountable
  • Ability to balance people, process, and performance in a dynamic environment
  • Passion for building culture and supporting high-quality patient care
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
  • Comfortable being hands-on and present in a fast-paced hospital setting

🚀 The Opportunity

This role is ideal for an experienced leader who wants more than just managing day-to-day operations—you’ll have the opportunity to:

  • Shape hospital culture and team development
  • Drive meaningful business growth
  • Partner in medical and operational excellence
  • Make a lasting impact on both people and patients
