We are looking for an experienced, compassionate and organized Veterinary Receptionist who will join our pet care team in our fast-paced veterinary clinic. You will work at the front desk greeting, welcoming, and checking in the clients with their pets. Your other duties and tasks include answering the phone and emails, scheduling appointments and consultations, processing payments, and maintaining and updating patients’ records.

The Veterinary Receptionist should have amazing customer service, communication skills and multi-tasking capabilities. While communicating with clients, answering their questions, and assisting them with their medication and supply purchases, you need to show that you can be trusted and maintain a professional and engaging relationship. An exceptional Veterinary Receptionist should also be understanding, well-organized, and a team player. Minimum of 6 months’ job-related experience required.

Veterinary Receptionist Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Greet and welcome clients and their pets into the vet clinic or hospital.
  • Check in the clients.
  • Inform the veterinarian and assigned tech about the arrival of patients.
  • Room clients and patients.
  • Maintain, update, and file patients’ charts and records.
  • Answer phone calls and emails.
  • Schedule appointments, consultations, and surgical procedures.
  • Receive and process payments.
  • Fill prescribed medications and explain their use if needed.
  • Maintain the waiting room and front desk area and rooms clean and organized.

Veterinary Receptionist Requirements:

  • High school diploma/GED.
  • Veterinary technician certification is preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of veterinary procedures, medication, and terminology.
  • Minimum of 6 months’ job-related experience required.
  • Multitasking capabilities
  • Compassion and understanding.
  • Exceptional customer service and communication skills.
  • Organizational skills.

  • The base hourly range for this position is $18 - $22. Our pay ranges are primarily determined by role, level, and location. The range provided for each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for the position. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Eligible for periodic bonus.
