Oak Animal Hospital is a well-established, 3-doctor practice that has proudly served the community for over 30 years. Known for our welcoming team and commitment to mentorship, we provide a supportive environment where veterinary students and new DVMs can build their skills and confidence.
Externs work closely with our veterinarians to gain hands-on experience in exams, diagnostics, treatment planning, dentistry, surgery, medical case management, and client communication while learning the day-to-day operations of a busy practice.
Most externship experiences range from two to eight weeks depending on student and hospital schedules. Externships at Oak Animal Hospital are offered to 4th-year veterinary students. 
Veterinary students who are in the clinical portion of their education are eligible for a travel/living expense stipend. The stipend amount for Oak Animal Hospital is $500.
