Veterinary Technician 

Hyde Park Veterinary Clinic is seeking an experienced Veterinary Technician or Veterinary Assistant to join our collaborative 6-doctor small animal practice. Whether you are a Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT/CVT/RVT) or an experienced veterinary assistant with strong technical skills, we’d love to connect.

  • Surgery and advanced dentistry
  • Digital radiology and ultrasound
  • Therapy laser treatments
  • Chiropractic and acupuncture services
  • Full in-house IDEXX laboratory diagnostics
  • Low-stress handling and individualized patient care
  • Urgent care support during extended evening hours

With a team of 6 veterinarians, including a Managing DVM, our support staff are highly involved in patient care and play a critical role in hospital operations.


What You’ll Do

Depending on experience and skillset, responsibilities may include:

  • Assisting veterinarians with exams, diagnostics, and treatments
  • Monitoring anesthesia and supporting surgical procedures
  • Preparing patients for surgery and assisting with recovery
  • Performing venipuncture, catheter placement, lab work, and radiographs
  • Administering medications and treatments as directed
  • Supporting hospitalized and urgent care patients
  • Educating clients on treatment plans, discharge instructions, and preventive care
  • Supporting exam room appointments and treatment workflows

Our team structure allows technicians and assistants to work in a variety of areas, including:

  • Exam room nursing
  • Surgical support
  • Treatment / hospitalized patient care
  • Urgent care support

What We’re Looking For

  • Veterinary Technician or Veterinary Assistant experience required
  • Licensed / Credentialed Veterinary Technician (LVT/RVT/CVT) welcome, but not required
  • Strong technical skills and confidence in patient care
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced veterinary hospital environment
  • Interest in advanced medicine and continued skill development
  • Positive, collaborative attitude with strong communication skills
  • Passion for high-quality patient care and client service

Schedule

  • Full-Time | 40 hours per week
  • 4–5 day work week
  • Hospital Hours: Monday–Friday: 7:30 AM – 6:00 PM
  • Rotating Saturdays: 8:30 AM – 12:00 PM (every other Saturday)
  • Urgent care shifts available from 2:00 PM – 10:00 PM, paid at time-and-a-half
