Position Summary
We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Certified Veterinary Technician (CVT) to join our team. The CVT will play a key role in supporting our veterinarians, delivering excellent patient care, and ensuring smooth hospital operations. This position requires strong technical skills, attention to detail, and a genuine love for animals.
Responsibilities
- Assist veterinarians with examinations, treatments, and surgical procedures
- Perform venipuncture, catheter placement, and administer medications as directed
- Monitor anesthesia and provide surgical nursing support
- Collect and process laboratory samples (blood, urine, fecal, cytology, etc.)
- Take and interpret radiographs in compliance with safety standards
- Provide compassionate nursing care, including monitoring hospitalized patients
- Communicate clearly with clients regarding patient care, home care instructions, and preventative health
- Maintain accurate and detailed patient medical records
- Ensure proper cleaning, sterilization, and maintenance of equipment and instruments
- Support a clean, safe, and organized hospital environment
Qualifications
- Current certification as a Veterinary Technician (CVT, LVT, RVT)
- Associate degree in Veterinary Technology (or equivalent) required
- Strong technical and nursing skills in a general practice setting
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
- Compassionate, detail-oriented, and reliable
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
