- Assist veterinarians and credentialed technicians during examinations, treatments, and surgical procedures.
- Prepare patients for surgery and assist with anesthesia monitoring and post-operative recovery under the direction of the veterinarian.
- Collect blood, urine, and fecal samples and perform in-house laboratory testing.
- Safely restrain and handle patients using low-stress and fear-free techniques whenever possible.
- Administer medications and treatments as permitted by state regulations and hospital protocols.
- Educate clients on medications, treatment plans, preventive care, and discharge instructions.
- Maintain accurate and thorough medical records using our electronic medical record system- Cornerstone.
- Help maintain a clean, organized, and fully stocked treatment area and hospital.
- Work collaboratively with the entire veterinary team to provide exceptional patient care and client service.
- Previous experience in a veterinary hospital, animal clinic, kennel, or animal care setting is preferred.
- Strong interest in veterinary medicine and a willingness to learn.
- Compassionate, dependable, and team-oriented with a positive attitude.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to multitask and remain organized in a fast-paced environment.
- Comfortable safely handling dogs and cats of all sizes.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
