Position Summary


The Associate Veterinarian is a vital member of our medical team and works closely with the Managing Doctor and support staff to advance the quality of medicine in our practice. This role combines excellent clinical care with meaningful client relationships and teamwork.



Key Responsibilities


  • Build strong client relationships through active listening, empathy, and clear communication
  • Perform physical exams and diagnostic, medical, surgical, and dental procedures that prioritize patient comfort and high standards of care
  • Communicate diagnoses, treatment plans, preventive care, and nutritional guidance to clients
  • Maintain accurate and timely medical records in accordance with hospital protocols
  • Stay current with advances in veterinary medicine and best practices
  • Support and mentor paraprofessional team members to ensure excellent patient care and client service
  • Represent the hospital positively within the professional community and the public


Qualifications & Skills


  • DVM or VMD from an AVMA‑accredited veterinary school (or ECFVG/PAVE certification)
  • Licensed (or eligible for licensure) in the state of Oregon
  • Commitment to practicing high‑quality medicine and upholding the veterinary code of ethics
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to collaborate effectively within a team environment
  • Confident and thoughtful decision‑making skills
  • Strong time and task management abilities
  • Professional, courteous demeanor with clients and staff
  • Enthusiasm for continued learning and professional growth
