Mixed Animal Veterinarian – Henniker Veterinary Hospital

Henniker, New Hampshire

If you’ve ever pictured practicing high-quality medicine while driving past rolling pastures, mountain views, and covered bridges on your way to a farm call—this is that opportunity.

Henniker Veterinary Hospital is a thriving 5-doctor mixed animal practice looking to add a veterinarian who wants more than just a job. We’re building something special here, and we’re looking for the right person to grow with us.

Why Henniker?

Henniker, New Hampshire is one of those places people don’t stumble upon—they seek it out. Known as “the only Henniker on Earth,” this community offers:

  • Scenic countryside with access to skiing, hiking, kayaking, and horseback riding
  • Close proximity to Concord and Manchester, with easy access to Boston
  • A true small-town feel with a strong, supportive community
  • Space to breathe, think, and practice medicine the way it should be practiced

If you’re looking to balance meaningful work with an incredible lifestyle, this is it.

About Our Practice

  • 5-doctor mixed animal hospital
  • We see dogs, cats, horses, goats, sheep, and donkeys
  • Regularly scheduled farm calls and road calls
  • A highly skilled and supportive team of Certified Veterinary Technicians
  • Strong focus on quality medicine, efficiency, and team utilization

We are structured in a way that allows our veterinarians to practice at the top of their license, with a team that truly supports you.

The Opportunity

This role is designed to meet you where you are:

  • New graduate? We offer structured mentorship, hands-on learning, and a team that wants to see you succeed.
  • Experienced veterinarian? We offer autonomy, growth, and the ability to continue expanding your skillset in both small and large animal medicine.

You’ll have the opportunity to:

  • Work on a diverse caseload across species
  • Build strong client relationships within a loyal community
  • Develop your interests, whether that’s surgery, ambulatory work, or advanced medicine
  • Be part of a hospital that is actively growing and evolving

Schedule & Structure

This is a true mixed animal role with a thoughtfully structured schedule that keeps your days varied, engaging, and efficient:

  • Small animal appointment days in-clinic with a strong technician support team
  • Dedicated surgery days for soft tissue, dentistry, and case workups
  • Road call / farm call days built into your schedule for large animal care
  • Shared on-call rotation for after-hours needs

This balance allows you to fully utilize your skillset while maintaining a sustainable and rewarding workflow.

What We Offer

  • Compensation:

    • Base salary of $140-$150+k (dependent on experience)
    • Production-based bonuses
    • Sign-on bonuses up to $40k
  • Complete benefits package, including:
    • Health, dental, and vision insurance
    • 401(k) with match
