Full-Time or Part-Time

Fernandina Beach Animal Clinic is seeking an experienced Veterinary Technician to join our small animal hospital serving dogs, cats, and their families throughout Fernandina Beach and Amelia Island.

We're open to both full-time and part-time candidates and are especially interested in an experienced technician who is confident working across different areas of the hospital and comfortable jumping in wherever the team needs support.

About Fernandina Beach Animal Clinic

Fernandina Beach Animal Clinic is a busy, established veterinary hospital with a strong connection to our island community.

Our hospital includes:

  • Five full-time and one part-time veterinarian, with an additional doctor joining the team
  • Small animal medicine focused on dogs and cats
  • Surgery five days per week
  • Approximately 15–20 hospital team members
  • Long-tenured staff, including team members who have been with the hospital for 16–20 years
  • Strong connection to the Fernandina Beach and Amelia Island community

What You'll Do

Our Veterinary Technicians rotate throughout the hospital, providing the opportunity to maintain and develop a broad range of clinical skills.

Responsibilities may include:

  • Assist veterinarians with exams, diagnostics, treatments, and procedures
  • Obtain patient histories and vital signs
  • Perform venipuncture and IV catheter placement
  • Collect and process laboratory samples
  • Administer medications, vaccines, and prescribed treatments
  • Take digital radiographs
  • Prepare patients and equipment for surgery
  • Monitor anesthesia and support surgical recovery
  • Assist with dental procedures and dental radiographs
  • Provide nursing care for hospitalized patients
  • Educate clients on medications, treatments, and preventive care
  • Maintain accurate medical records
  • Support efficient patient flow throughout the hospital
  • Collaborate with doctors, technicians, assistants, and client service team members

What We're Looking For

  • Previous Veterinary experience required
  • CVT/LVT/RVT credential welcomed but not required
  • Strong clinical and patient-handling skills
  • Surgery and anesthesia experience preferred
  • Comfortable working in a busy small animal practice
  • Able to recognize where support is needed and jump in without waiting to be asked
  • Organized, dependable, and adaptable
  • Strong communication and client service skills
  • Team-oriented approach and willingness to support others

Schedule

  • Full-Time or Part-Time
  • Full-time schedules are typically four 10-hour shifts
  • Rotating Saturdays from 8:00 AM–12:00 PM
  • Schedule may vary based on hospital and doctor needs
