Carver Street Animal Hospital is a small animal general practice, located in Durham, North Carolina. We're looking to an experienced veterinary receptionist to join our customer service team on a full-time basis!

This position's main responsibility is to provide exceptional client service while maintaining a smooth and efficient flow of clients and patients through the animal hospital.  More specifically, the Veterinary Receptionist is responsible for greeting clients, determining the needs of the clients and patients, and completing the check-in and check-out process. The position requires a practical knowledge of the hospital's procedures and policies, as well as the ability to use multiple types of communication and record-keeping platforms. The Veterinary Receptionist is expected to perform the office duties related to patient care and treatment and to assist the Hospital Manager and doctors as needed. Potential to fill lead CSR position, based on candidate experience.

This is a full-time position of 30-40 hours a week; scheduled days and hours may vary based on hospital need. Weekend work will be expected on a rotating basis.

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Outstanding client service skills
  • Strong organizational skills with ability to multi-task; strong attention to detail and focus on tasks with distractions
  • Strong computer skills (Microsoft Office, E-mail, and/or cloud based PIMS experience preferred)
  • Experience with multi-line phone systems
  • Strong interpersonal skills, including working in a team environment
  • Handling difficult situations including emergencies
  • Payment handling and basic finance skills

Education/Experience:

  • High school degree, Bachelors degree a plus
  • Minimum of 6 months job-related experience required.

Compensation:

  • Base hourly rate of $17.00-20.00 DOE
  • Eligible for periodic bonus
