Are you an experienced veterinary leader ready to take the next step in your career? National Veterinary Associates (NVA) is seeking a Multi-Site Hospital Manager to lead two established practices in California's East Bay: Parkway Veterinary Hospital and Pleasanton Veterinary Hospital.

This is a unique opportunity for a strong people and operations leader to make an impact across two established hospitals while partnering closely with each practice’s veterinary leadership. You’ll provide dedicated leadership and operational support to each hospital, developing strong teams, driving financial and operational performance, and supporting the individual culture and needs of each practice.

What You'll Do

As Multi-Site Hospital Manager, you'll partner with the Managing Veterinarians and hospital leadership at both locations to oversee day-to-day operations and build engaged, high-performing teams.

Leadership & Team Development

• Lead, coach, and develop team members across both hospitals.
• Partner with Managing Veterinarians on staffing, hiring, onboarding, training, performance management, and retention.
• Set clear expectations, provide timely feedback, and hold teams accountable while recognizing strong performance.
• Build strong relationships with doctors and support teams through regular check-ins, meetings, and one-on-ones.
• Foster positive, collaborative hospital cultures focused on engagement, communication, and exceptional patient care.
• Identify and share best practices across both locations.
  

Hospital Operations

• Oversee daily hospital operations and help ensure efficient workflows across both practices.
• Develop and maintain hospital schedules while managing labor to budget.
• Support implementation and adherence to hospital policies and regulatory requirements, including OSHA and controlled-substance compliance.
• Partner with hospital teams to identify opportunities to improve processes, efficiency, and the client experience.
• Ensure hospital facilities, systems, equipment, and operational needs are appropriately supported.
  

Financial Performance

• Partner with veterinary leadership to develop strategies to achieve hospital budget and growth goals.
• Monitor P&L performance and identify opportunities to improve revenue, labor management, inventory, and operating expenses.
• Support annual planning and budgeting for both hospitals.
• Oversee payroll, accounts receivable, inventory controls, and other key financial processes.
• Develop action plans when needed to keep each hospital on track toward its goals.
  

Client Experience & Growth

• Champion an exceptional client experience across both hospitals.
• Support teams in resolving client concerns and escalations.
• Identify opportunities to strengthen client relationships and increase visits through local marketing and community engagement.
• Maintain an understanding of the local veterinary market, competition, and community needs.
  

What We're Looking For

We're looking for an experienced leader who can balance the needs of two hospitals while building strong relationships with doctors and team members.

Our ideal candidate has:

• 3–5+ years of management experience, preferably within veterinary medicine, healthcare, or a service-based environment.
• Experience leading and developing teams, including hiring, training, coaching, and performance management.
• Strong operational and financial acumen, including experience with budgeting and P&L management.
• The ability to delegate effectively, create accountability, and manage competing priorities.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
• A collaborative leadership style and the ability to influence teams through change.
• The ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive employee and business matters with professionalism.
• Willingness and ability to regularly travel between our Dublin and Pleasanton locations.
• Previous veterinary and/or multi-site management experience is strongly preferred.
  

Compensation & Benefits

Salary: $85,000–$95,000 annually, based on experience and qualifications.
