Managing Veterinarian | Starch Pet Hospital | Des Moines, IA

Starch Pet Hospital is seeking a Managing Veterinarian (DVM) to lead our established, full-service small animal veterinary hospital in the Des Moines metro area. This is an excellent opportunity for a veterinarian who is passionate about high-quality medicine, surgery, mentorship, and team leadership.

About the Role

The Managing Veterinarian provides medical leadership, mentors associate veterinarians, and partners with hospital leadership to support hospital growth, team culture, and exceptional client service.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead medical and surgical case management
  • Mentor and support veterinary team members
  • Establish medical protocols and quality standards
  • Partner on hospital operations, staffing, and financial performance
  • Help grow the practice through community involvement and client experience initiatives

Qualifications

  • DVM/VMD degree from an accredited program
  • Active Iowa veterinary license (or ability to obtain one)
  • Strong communication and leadership skills
  • Passion for practicing high-quality veterinary medicine and surgery
