Veterinary Technician (Vet Tech)

Gregg Animal Hospital – Columbia, SC

Gregg Animal Hospital is looking to add experienced Veterinary Technicians (Vet Tech) to our small animal veterinary team in Columbia, South Carolina. We are looking for skilled technicians who enjoy hands-on patient care, supporting veterinary procedures, and working in a collaborative veterinary hospital environment.

This role is ideal for a veterinary technician who wants to utilize their technical skills in surgery, anesthesia, diagnostics, and patient care while continuing to grow in their career.


Veterinary Technician Responsibilities

  • Assist veterinarians with patient exams and treatments
  • Perform venipuncture, catheter placement, and lab sample collection
  • Run in-house diagnostic testing and laboratory work
  • Monitor anesthesia and assist with surgical procedures
  • Prepare patients for surgery and maintain sterile surgical areas
  • Administer medications and treatments as directed
  • Record and maintain accurate medical records
  • Provide client education and discharge instructions
  • Support daily hospital workflow and patient care

Veterinary Technician Qualifications

  • Previous veterinary technician or vet assistant experience preferred
  • Experience with surgery support and anesthesia monitoring
  • Strong animal handling and patient care skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced veterinary hospital
  • Strong communication and client service skills
  • Organized and detail-oriented
  • Willingness to learn and grow in veterinary medicine

Pay: Competitive hourly pay based on experience
