Emergency Veterinarian needed at our hospital North of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.


Swing shifts, with no overnights


Butler Veterinary Associates and Emergency Center is a large group practice located in Butler, PA, which is less than 1 hour north of Pittsburgh. We are able to enjoy various sports teams, 4 seasons and low cost of living. We are a busy clinic with over 50 employees and 10 doctors that provide general practice services as well as emergency services.


We are in search of an emergency doctor who wants to receive many challenging cases that will keep your diagnostic, medical and surgical skills sharp. Although we are not open 24 hours, we do provide hospital care through the night with a technician, and our doctors usually work our 2-10PM shift. We value work/life balance and therefore we rotate weekends and work no more than 32 scheduled hours per week. There would be no on call duties and we offer a lot of flexibility and mentoring. Our ER department is very busy, and we are looking for a dedicated ER doctor to help contribute to our team.

About our hospital:

• Relationship with local referral center for consults.

• Ultrasound.

• Full in-house lab.

• Digital X-Ray.

• Full dental suite with digital x-ray- double suite.

• Force Triad surgical cautery.

• Steam & Gas sterilization.

• Double surgery suite.


Compensation: 

  • Base salary of $120,000 - $135,000
  • Production-based bonuses
  • Generous signing bonus

Skills and Qualifications:

Candidate must be a graduate from an AVMA accredited college or have successfully passed the ECFVG certification program or the PAVE certification. License in good standing to practice in Pennsylvania.
