Black Dog Veterinary Services is seeking an experienced Veterinary Technician to join our progressive small animal practice in Bozeman, MT. Credentialed Veterinary Technicians (CVT/LVT/RVT) are preferred, but experienced non-credentialed veterinary professionals are also encouraged to apply.

We're an AAHA-accredited, Fear Free Certified, and Cat Friendly practice where technicians are highly utilized, trusted by our doctors, and encouraged to take ownership of patient care.

What You'll Do

As a Veterinary Technician at Black Dog Veterinary Services, you'll work closely with our veterinarians and be encouraged to utilize your technical skills throughout the patient visit.

Responsibilities include:

  • Obtain patient histories and perform TPRs
  • Safely handle and restrain dogs and cats using Fear Free techniques
  • Perform venipuncture and IV catheter placement
  • Collect and process laboratory samples
  • Administer medications and prescribed treatments
  • Take digital radiographs
  • Monitor anesthesia and assist with surgical procedures and recovery
  • Perform dental cleanings and dental radiographs
  • Support outpatient and hospitalized patient care
  • Fill prescriptions and maintain accurate medical records
  • Educate clients on treatments, medications, and preventive care
  • Collaborate with doctors and teammates to maintain efficient hospital flow

What We're Looking For

  • Previous hands-on veterinary clinical experience required
  • Credentialed Veterinary Technician (CVT/LVT/RVT) preferred, but not required
  • Experienced non-credentialed technicians are encouraged to apply
  • Anesthesia and surgical monitoring experience
  • Strong patient handling and technical skills
  • Excellent communication and client service skills
  • Self-starter who recognizes what needs to be done and takes initiative
  • Team-oriented, adaptable, and eager to continue learning
  • Interest in contributing ideas and helping improve patient care and hospital operations

Schedule

Black Dog Veterinary Services is open:

Monday–Friday | 7:30 AM–5:00 PM

  • Full-Time and Part-Time opportunities available
  • Flexible 4- or 5-day workweek
  • No weekends
  • No nights or after-hours
  • No holiday shifts
