Veterinary Technician
We are seeking an experienced, compassionate, and highly motivated Veterinary Technician to join our busy, fast-paced veterinary clinic. The ideal candidate is confident in a clinical setting, comfortable handling multiple priorities at once, and able to remain calm and organized when the pace gets hectic.
This position is ideal for a veterinary technician who enjoys working as part of a team and has strong hands-on experience with emergency cases, surgical procedures, and patient care. The hours are 11am to 7pm, Monday through Friday.
Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, high-quality nursing care to veterinary patients.
- Assist veterinarians with examinations, diagnostics, treatments, and procedures.
- Prepare patients for surgery and assist with surgical procedures.
- Monitor patients before, during, and after anesthesia and surgery.
- Assist with emergency and urgent-care cases while maintaining composure in high-pressure situations.
- Perform and assist with laboratory diagnostics, including bloodwork, urinalysis, cytology, and other in-house testing.
- Place and maintain IV catheters and administer medications and treatments as directed.
- Obtain and monitor patient vital signs and accurately document medical information.
- Handle, restrain, and care for patients safely and compassionately.
- Communicate effectively with veterinarians, fellow team members, and clients.
- Maintain clean, organized, and properly stocked treatment and surgical areas.
- Prioritize and manage multiple patients and tasks efficiently in a high-volume environment.
- Follow clinic protocols for patient safety, infection control, and emergency procedures.
Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years of veterinary technician experience required.
- Demonstrated experience assisting with emergency cases and surgical procedures required.
- Strong knowledge of veterinary nursing and patient care.
- Comfortable working in a busy, fast-paced, high-volume clinic.
- Excellent multitasking, time-management, and organizational skills.
- Ability to prioritize effectively when managing multiple patients and competing demands.
- Calm and confident under pressure, particularly during emergencies.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Compassionate approach to patient care and client service.
- Reliable, professional, and willing to contribute as part of a collaborative team.

Our ideal technician is experienced, proactive, dependable, and able to switch between routine appointments, hospitalized patients, surgical cases, and emergencies without losing focus on patient care.
