Join our veterinary team at a newly renovated state-of-the-art facility dedicated to providing exceptional care for animals. As a Veterinary Technician, you will play a crucial role in delivering top-notch care to our furry patients.

Veterinary Technician Responsibilities & Duties

·Utilize your expertise in and to assist veterinarians in diagnosing and treating animals.

·Apply your knowledge of to support in medical procedures and surgeries.

·Demonstrate proficiency in to maintain a clean and safe environment for patients.

·Communicate effectively with the veterinary team and pet owners, providing updates on patient status and care instructions.

·Utilize your understanding of to accurately document patient information and treatment plans.

·Assist in and as needed, ensuring the well-being of all animals in our care.

·Demonstrate gentle techniques and provide compassionate to promote healing and comfort.

·Assist veterinarians and veterinary technicians during examinations and procedures

·Restrain animals safely and effectively during exams and treatments

  • Administer medications and vaccinations under the direction of a veterinarian
  • Prepare surgical equipment and assist during surgeries
  • Monitor the recovery of animals post-surgery
  • Clean and disinfect examination rooms and surgical areas
  • Feed, bathe, and exercise animals
  • Collect and process laboratory samples such as blood, urine, and feces
  • Maintain accurate and detailed patient records
  • Provide education and support to pet owners on general animal care and nutrition
  • Assist in emergency situations by providing first aid and stabilizing animals before the veterinarian's intervention
  • Perform basic diagnostic tests like taking X-rays and running blood tests
  • Ensure a clean, safe, and organized work environment

Veterinary Technician Requirements:

  • Previous experience working in a veterinary or animal care setting, preferred not required
  • Proficiency in using veterinary practice management software
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
  • Basic understanding of animal behavior and restraint techniques
  • Knowledge of common veterinary pharmaceuticals and their uses
  • Basic first aid and CPR certification for animals
  • Comfortable handling a variety of animals, including those that are anxious or aggressive
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Ability to lift and restrain animals of various sizes
  • Availability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Compassion and empathy towards animals and their owners
  • Basic computer skills for managing records and scheduling
  • Physical stamina and the ability to perform repetitive tasks
  • Good problem-solving skills and the ability to stay calm under pressure
  • Commitment to maintaining a clean and sanitary work environment
  • Willingness to continue education and training in veterinary medicine

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: The base hourly range for this position is $15.00 - $22.00. Our pay ranges are primarily determined by role, level, and location. The range provided for each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for the position. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.

Experience:

Veterinary experience: 1 year (Preferred)
